BUTTERFLY FARM - STRATFORD UPON AVON

Opened in 1985, this lush paradise is home to hundreds of free-flying butterflies from around the world, fluttering gracefully through exotic flora and waterfalls.

HOLY TRINITY- STRATFORD UPON AVON
Holy Trinity Church is where Shakespeare was baptised and is buried. You’ll find it on the banks of the river Avon, a couple of minutes walk from the theatres. Subject to parish demands (things like weddings, christenings, services), the Church is open all year round.

HALL CROFT
Hall’s Croft is currently undergoing a significant conservation project. The Grade I listed building was once the home of Shakespeare’s daughter Susanna and her husband physician John Hall. Audiences will soon be invited to see the works in action with tours and talks throughout the year.

MARY ARDEN'S HOUSE
Mary Arden’s Farm is the childhood home of Shakespeare’s mother. Today the property is home to a learning centre for primary school children bringing Shakespeare to life through award-winning programmes across the school year. Mary Arden’s Farm welcomes over 3,300 children each year from across the country, and through our primary learning programmes they have the opportunity to engage with Shakespeare in a fun, immersive and safe environment.

ANNE HATHAWAY'S COTTAGE
Visit Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, the family home of Anne Hathaway, William Shakespeare’s wife-to-be. It is here that Anne was born and raised and where the young Shakespeare would have visited her during the early part of their relationship. Built more than 500 years ago and extended over the years, much of the original survives. See original furniture including the Hathaway bed and uncover five centuries of stories of the family who lived here for 13 generations. Wander through acres of beautiful cottage gardens and orchards, and explore the sculpture trail inspired by Shakespeare’s plays.
